High Defin-Awesome!I was the groom. The first thing my father said to me at the reception was not "congratulations, son." He said, "this band you booked is kickin'!" First off, my husband was adamant about having a band rather than a D.J. at our reception. When we started to research bands in our area, the rates were much higher than we could afford. Somehow, we came across a pamphlet for High Definition. When I called Dave to get the rates, I was in shock and immediately skeptical. High Definition was head and shoulders less expensive than the other bands. Dave addressed these concerns and assured me that they were not in this business for the money, they just love what they do. To further prove to my husband and I, Dave invited us (with the permission of the couple) to watch them in action at a wedding. We were shocked, the band was awesome!! We booked High Definition very soon after to play during our cocktail hour and the entire reception. Dave met with us numerous times to plan for our big day. This was extremely comforting to my husband and I (in retrospect b/c during planning you are so busy) because on our wedding day, it was like we had known Dave forever, everything felt perfect!! The band even learned 3 songs for us!! Beyond accommodating! Honestly, there are not enough praises to give this group! All of our wedding guests were shocked!! They are still talking about how great the music was! One more thing to say I dont think there was a moment when someone was not on the dance floor, even during dinner!! They were awesome!!! Dave also played at our ceremony in Bolton Landing and it was just beautiful! He definitely went out of his way to make the ceremony very special for us and our families.The wedding reception was unbelievable. Before dinner my husband and I danced a routine to "I Get a Kick out of You" which the band had learned for us. It was flawless. After dinner the music continued and we were all dancing the entire night, one song kept being played right after another. At one point I had to stop and wonder if they were going to take any breaks! All night and in the days that followed, many of our guests inquired about the band. They thought they were amazing and must have cost an arm and a leg. When they told us the price we were charged, everyone was in shock. We definitely chose the best band EVER for our wedding.I would recommend High Definition to EVERYONE! How Good Is High Definition?Our Talents are represented by: 1 The impressive resumes of High Definition and its members.In January of 2011, High Definition had the thrill and honor of performing on the "Event Center" stage at Turning Stone Casino. That's the stage where the biggest names in the music world perform. Lead Vocalist Bob Father received a Grammy Nomination in 2010 for the Sinatra Tribute CD. Bob is the featured vocalist on the CD. Vocalist Bob Father was the Headlining act at Saratoga Performing Arts Center ( June 07 ), Turning Stone Casino ( Feb 09 ) and the Egg ( Dec 09 ). His abilities have brought him to stages such as Proctors, The Troy Music Hall and the On Center in Syracuse. The core of High Definition was the featured act at Turning Stone Casino for the Casino's New Years Eve Celebration six years in a row; they could have anyone but they chose us. High Definition is on the rotation of bands at the Vapor Night Club at The Saratoga Casino and Raceway Facility. Only the best bands in the northeast are given the opportunity to perform there. Keyboardist Peter Van Keuren's solo album, Closer to Home, is a great representation of his musical ability, passion and creativity. Guitarist Dave Perrotta has been performing professionally since his early teenage years. He has performed with a dozen different bands and many of the areas finest musicians. One of the keys in keeping costs low is to minimize expenses and pass the savings onto our clients. We minimize costs by keeping it simple, utilizing a straight-forward, honest approach. 1 We never charge a commission, management, agent or booking fees. 2 Our audio samples are a simple, low cost, straight forward recreation of our live performance sound. No studio tricks or hours of dubbing and mixing. 3 We don't invest in marketing tools such as videos and fancy web sites . 4 Our best advertising is our live performance and word of mouth. 5 Performing music is a labor of love. The factors involved in pricing include: amount of band members, time of event and travel time. Whats included? High Definition performances include: 1 An eight piece band featuring a horn section, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, percussionist, and five male and one female lead vocalist. 2 State-of-the-art P A system with integrated DJ system for non-stop music. 3 During a four hour wedding reception, High Definition will take only one break during dinner. Following our break, we will play till the end of the event, sometimes a two plus hour set. This is important to factor in as some bands take one, two or even three breaks during a four-hour event. 4 We will learn songs especially for you, first dances, parent dances and other speciality song requests. 5 We are committed to go the extra mile to ensure your special day goes just as youve dreamed it. We also will bring enthusiasm, high energy, fun, musical ability and professionalism to each and every performance. 6 On your day, you are the boss. Can you provide music for our ceremony? Yes, a popular choice has been a classical style guitarist. We have many other options available to you as well. What options do you offer for the Cocktail hour? We offer a variety of cocktail hour options such as solo piano, solo jazz or classical guitar, acoustic duo, acoustic trio, jazz duo, jazz trio, jazz quartet, a karaoke-style sing along and a DJ service.Starting time for the band? We find that it is best to have the band play soft background music as your reception begins. This sets the best mood for your special day.How many breaks does the band take? High Definition takes one break only during dinner. We will provide recorded music during this break. Do we have to provide dinner for the band? We kindly ask that dinner be provided for the band. With travel time and setting up, the band rarely has the time to dine.How will the band dress for a wedding reception? The gentlemen in the band wear black tuxes and Nadine wears formal evening attire.What styles of music do you play? We play music from the 1930s to the songs of today. Our repertoire has the versatility to satisfy all generations. Experience and having five lead vocalists gives us the ability to perform a wide range of song styles.How big of a stage do we need? A 20' by 10' stage will fit the entire band.What type of electricity do we need? We reguire two independent outlets.How long does the band play? We typically play for four hours. Additional time can be arranged.What if Im concerned about the volume of the band? We are very experienced at keeping the volume just right. Feel free to let us know if a volume change is needed during your event.Do you have lighting? Yes, we have stage and dance floor lighting. We also feature special effects lighting to enhance the dance floor.Do you have a wireless microphone? Yes, it can be utilized for toasts, blessings, etc.Will the band learn songs that we need for our special day? Yes, we typically learn 2 to 3 songs for the bride and grooms first dance or parent dances. Can we select songs the band will play? Yes, you can pick songs from our song list that you want and dont want us to play.Do you have a horn section available? Yes, vocalist Bob Father also doubles on Trumpet. We also offer the option of adding a Saxophone player. Do you have a CD player? Yes, we have a fully integrated DJ system in our state-of-the-art PA system. Will you provide music during your breaks? Yes, we bring a variety of recorded music with us. We also can play any CD you provide us.Who will announce the Bridal party? High Definition will take care of announcements and the flow of events, be the Master of Ceremonies.
